Services to Members

Downtown New Brunswick accomplishes its mission by:
1. Sharing Information
Minutes
In an effort to keep members abreast of initiatives being undertaken by the Board, the minutes from our monthly Board of Directors meetings are circulated to all DNB Members via email or fax.

Website
By now, most of us have become accustomed to accessing information by our fingertips. Development of a website was a critical component in our mandate, and this element will allow us the flexibility to provide members information in a timely and comprehensive manner. Downtown New Brunswick will provide you with valuable information to assist in fulfilling our mission “to assist our members in developing prosperous downtowns in the province”.

2. Providing Training and Consultation Services to Members
The DNB Education and Outreach Program provides education to members through various mediums. If you are a member of Downtown New Brunswick and your BIA would like to host a regional DNB meeting in your community, please contact Bruce McCormack at bruce@downtownfredericton.ca

Providing information in both official languages is important to DNB and our Outreach Program allows us the opportunity to do so through translation services.

Our Annual General Meeting provides a wealth of information on various topics relative to downtowns. Please check back later for details on the date and location of this years’ event.

3. Facilitating Partnering and Networking
Our Annual Conference boosts a number of educational and networking opportunities. Please check back later for details on the date and location of this years’ event.

The Board of Directors of DNB meets on a monthly basis with staff from the Department of Environment and Local Government. The establishment of this relationship fosters growth in communication between BIA’s and the Provincial Government.

4. Recommending Policies
As the umbrella organization for twenty-nine BIA’s in the province of New Brunswick DNB, has undertaken steps to form policies and recommend changes to the BIA Act. We continue our consulting process to ensure implementation of essential changes.

5. Acting as a Spokesperson for Members
Strategic Planning and discussions involving new developments relative to BIA’s is ongoing with Staff, Members of the Legislative Assembly and Ministers. Your input is important to these discussions and we encourage you to bring your ideas and concerns forward to the Board of Directors. Feel free to contact a member near you.
